- I’ve spent this weekend wondering from panel to panel at the World Con – Science Fiction Convention, which takes place in a different city every year. This year it came to Montreal, so I had to attend.
- Neil Gaiman did not disappoint and was as entertaining as ever, especially when telling us about his first ever sushi experience. I’m happy to say he also won this year’s Hugo Award for the Best Novel for The Graveyard book, which I’ve been pimping around as much as I could these past few months. It’s great – go and read it
- I also attended some illustration panels with the professional artists such as Dan Dos Santos. If you haven’t seen his art yet check out his site. I’d also recommend the DVD he made for Conceptart.org – really instructive.
- I am especially hyped about the fact that Donato Giancola, who got my vote, won this year’s Hugo Award in the Best Professional Artist category. His work is stunning. I especially love the Battle of Agincourt and Eric Bright-Eyes triptychs.
