- I’m back from New York, where I attended a sculpture workshop at the Grand Central Academy of Art. It was a great learning experience and I hope to apply what I’ve learned to some personal work in the future
- And since imdb updated the credits list for the upcoming Roberto Rodriguez movie, Predators, I can now say that I’ve been working on this particular project the past couple of months. Here’s the trailer, if you haven’t seen it yet

- Long time, no post. I’ve been busy with some crunch time at work and with other stuff I can’t talk about. This means I couldn’t work on any personal projects that I’ve started previously. They’ll have to wait a bit longer.
- I’m off to New York next week for a week of culture and education
Should be fun and instructive. More on that after I return.
- To finish off, here’s a short new article on Lineage in FXguide

- I had a head sculpt lying around on my drive and just did a quick body sketch to go with it – nothing refined or detailed.
- a sketch -an alien ambassador in 18nth century Europe? Why not lol
- and a bit of fan art – MERLIN – this is a show I’m currently obsessed with. The characters are great and the acting top notch. It’s funny and I love the soundtrack. The Mill is doing a great job on the VFX too
Here’s a start of my Merlin/Colin Morgan bust. I think I’ll print this one eventually – once I get the likeness right, which I haven’t yet

- I’ve just started Boaz Livny’s CG Society Workshop [my first] on Mental Ray so the projects are on hold for a couple of months
Meanwhile, I’m hoping to learn a lot and improve my renders.

- Here’s a new model I’m working on – Blizzard’s Kerrigan from Starcraft based both on Blizzard’s concept art and Steve Wang’s amazing sculpture. I started polypainting the body this weekend. The wings still need sculpting… so lots more to be done

- Walter Wick is a great children’s book author and illustrator who works with photographs he shoots. But these are not only photographs of real life objects or persons but staged shots of exquisitely constructed dioramas that he creates in his studio. His work is truly magical
Check it out!
